My Essays

A note about my essays: I have re-written many of these essays as my awareness, knowledge, and opinions change and grow over the years. I write about the things which I feel the most strongly about. I often refer to my essays as TBOFIs which is an acronym for Thoughts, Beliefs, Opinions, Feelings, & Ideas. I have messages that I want to get out to people, much the way that an evangelist feels the need to spread the word. However my messages are not religious ones per se. I have messages of truth and philosophy, theory and fact related to how I relate to the world. I write about the situations which I believe should and can be changed.

At times you may want to re-read an essay as some of them become updated as I obtain new information or as changes in my life and my realizations arise.

This first essay is about my reasons why I have never wanted to procreate

The Childfree Choice

This next essay is about my attraction to and observations on the Gothic subculture that is prominent in many major cities throughout the world.
Gallantly Gothic

This following essay is one I wrote with the intention of clearly sharing what my experience with suffering and dealing with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for many years. It is debillitating and has caused me much pain. In spite of the pain it has also taught me a lot about myself and the world around me.
Fibromyalgia: The Invisible Illness

An essay about my issues with and problems with the fundamentalist Christian upbringing I was forced to endure.
The Contrary Christian

And finally (for now) an essay about my reasons and ethical beliefs concerning my decision to become and remain a vegetarian for life.
Vegetarian Verity
